Once the busy hub of transport in the area, Savile Town Wharf is steeped in history and tradition. Built in the nineteenth century, this beautiful stone building was once the stables that housed the working horses that pulled barges along the Calder & Hebble Navigation.

Under the watchful eye of Calder Valley Marine, the wharf has recently undergone sympathetic renovation with due regard for the heritage of its past, and is home for the main offices of Calder Valley Marine. It is also where you will find the award winning "Leggers Inn" and "Old Stables Coffee Shop". This combination makes Savile Town Wharf the perfect destination for boaters, cyclists and walkers.

It is a working boatyard, and is where all our new narrowboats are launched and given their full pre-delivery inspection .

Equipped with slipway, the wharf has a 36 ton on-site crane and wet dock facilities together with hard standing and a well stocked chandlery for self fit out.
